All the action is on the reels rather than in the background, although there are a few scarce details there. Giant reels with large symbols make up for the lack of a backdrop though, as there is plenty of detail there too.

We're getting a five-reel game here, but the reels are large enough to bring us four symbols per reel. We also have a progressive jackpot above the reels.

Christmas-themed games usually have Santa as a wild symbol, and RTG has followed that path here as well. He appears on reels two through five, but never on the first one.

There is a Naughty Pick Bonus feature to look for

Three of the parchment lists are enough to reveal this feature. You'll see the screen change to show you 20 gifts. All but two of those gifts hide either a multiplier or a coin prize. The remaining two have naughty notes in them that you want to avoid. Finding one doesn't make any difference, as you can carry on picking gifts after this, but if you find the second one, you can't pick any more gifts after that point.

Once the picking feature ends, you'll play five Santastic free games. Any multipliers found during the pick feature are applied to anything you receive during those games. While you only get five games, they've loaded the reels with plenty more scatters and wilds. This means there are bigger chances to receive prizes, and three more scatters kicks off the Naughty Pick Bonus once again.

There are some Lucky free spins available too

This lives up to its name because the feature occurs at random during the base game. If you trigger it, you'll receive at least five free spins and up to 10 of them if you're… Lucky! You also get a random multiplier before you start, which could be anything up to 10x.

The usual lack of RTP details is present here

This is the only downside to this RTG game. They never reveal their return to player percentages, so we weren't surprised to find this happen again with The Naughty List.

Our rating… is this a naughty or nice game?

It's a superb game, certainly worthy of nine points out of 10. The pick feature that comes before the free games (or at least one version of the free games) is superb, keeping it going for longer.
